Parkinson’s Law - work will expand to fill the time allotted for its completion


Parkinson’s Law is the idea that work expands to fill the time allotted for its completion. This may mean you take longer than necessary to complete a task or you procrastinate and complete the task right before the due date.

The term was first coined by Cyril Northcote Parkinson in a humorous essay he wrote for “The Economist” in 1955. you can find his original article here
